Queen Mattress - Share and Share Alike?
By C. Jason, Comfort Consultant

A Queen Mattress is the most popular of sizes of mattresses in the U.S. today. Couples love them because they provide enough room for the both of them to sleep without taking up an inordinate amount of room in the bedroom. Individuals love them because it gives one person all the room they would ever need to sleep on without, again, taking up all the room in the bedroom.

In this article, I would like to direct our attention to the needs of couples. With divorce rates in the U.S. hovering around 50%, I would venture to say that if we are to salvage this institution of marriage, then we need to ensure that the happiness of couples is paramount.

Happiness depends on so many factors, and there is never any one overriding factor that would ensure the happiness of all couples. However, I believe that as we begin to eliminate the factors that will lead to unhappiness from the couple’s lives, they will have more strength and character to be able to survive the other factors which may be present. In other words, lighten the burden on the couple and they will have more energy to resolve the other issues in their lives.

One important element that affects happiness is the quality of sleep each individual receives. Without a good night’s rest, a person will have the tendency to be short tempered, impatient, cranky or moody. One mistake that many couples make when purchasing their mattress is to buy a mattress that has no or limited adjustability.

Each individual is different, and each sleeps best on a slightly different sleep surface. Not only that, but an individual’s needs may change over the years. It is important that the couple consider the ability of the bed to adjust to the desires of each individual partner, after all, we spend nearly a third of our lives in bed.

The quality of the materials, the breathability of the sleep surface, the reaction of the material to temperature and pressure are all important things to consider when purchasing a new mattress.

People are the happiest when they are comfortable and when they get a good night’s rest. That is why selecting the right Queen Mattress is so important.

Durability and longevity are also important factors to consider before making your purchase. How long will this mattress continue to supply your individual needs?

The purchase of a Queen Mattress is an investment in your health, beauty and mental well-being. It is important that you do not consider purchasing the cheapest, as that will ultimately result in depreciated results in terms of health and comfort.

What is your health, beauty, comfort and happiness worth to you?

Waterbed - Is It Really Too ’70’s?
By C. Jason, Comfort Consultant

The word Waterbed still brings to the minds of many people the days of Hippies and Flower Power, Lava Lamps and Woodstock, even after 40 years.

Times have changed. The 21st Century brought us new technologies, better materials, and better designs. The Waterbeds of today are unlike any of those of the “groovy” generation.

Gone for the most part are the old bladder type waterbeds housed in a wooden frame. You remember: the ones that you could throw yourself on and ride the waves for a few minutes. The ones that kind of sunk down so that you would have to have to literally climb out of bed in the morning. The ones with the solid wooden frame all around you that you would occasionally hit with your knee or elbow, or some other part of your body and whose frame served as a collection abyss for all the things that would fall between the bed and the safety liner.

Many waterbeds today look just like conventional mattresses on the outside (the technical term for these are “Softside Waterbeds”.) These Softside Waterbeds offer many advantages over the old bladder type mattresses.

First off, you can choose between wave and “wave-less” design. Second, Softside Waterbeds are the same size as a regular mattress, meaning that you do not have to buy specialized sheets, frames and accessories. A Softside Waterbed will fit in any standard decor. Third, Softside Waterbeds weigh considerably less than traditional Waterbeds (from 20% to 25% less). Fourth, you gain all these advantages without losing any of the remarkable benefits of having a Waterbed in the first place.

The actual water chambers come in a variety of designs to accommodate the most discerning of tastes. You can choose from cylinders, both free flow and wave less; mid-fill and deep-fill water mattresses; mid-body support, etc. to name but a few.

All offer the benefits of a full, fluid support system. One that naturally supports the body as if you were relaxing in your own swimming pool on a hot summer day. Temperature controls maintain the perfect body temperature to completely relax, support and revitalize your mind and body.

Quality sleep is essential to a person’s overall health, mental state, and well-being. If we choose to live longer, happier lives, we must ensure that the needs of our bodies are being met properly. An inescapable element to our obtaining the quality rest we deserve is the type and quality of mattress we choose.

Many studies have shown that a Waterbed is the most ideal answer to our sleep related problems. Now you can get one, and not even vaguely resemble someone from the ‘70’s.

Twin Mattress - Why Should You Choose Better?

A Twin Mattress is many times the ideal solution for kids and for use as an extra bed. You can buy brand new Twin Mattresses starting from the low $100.00’s on up. But, what about the old adage, “You get what you pay for?” Buying a twin mattress might seem to some a no-brainer, just pick the cheapest and throw the kids on top, after all, kids are young, resilient, heal fast and can sleep on just about any sleep surface. But, is that really the way to choose a mattress for your kids?

Studies have shown that a good night’s rest is important for everyone, especially kids. The quality of sleep you get at night affects your performance the rest of the day. For kids, that means during the all important times of study and school work, where learning will make a big difference in their futures and in their careers.

Isn’t a Bad Night’s Rest Obvious?

A bad night’s rest can show up in very subtle ways. Although one may awaken apparently refreshed, the unconscious tossing and turning during the night takes its toll in alertness and endurance, as well as affecting the brain’s ability to process information.

It’s Time to Take Action

If we really care about our kids, we must care about their education. Their education provides the foundation to the future of this country. What good does it do us to provide the best in schools and books, if the child’s mind ends up weary and unable to concentrate?

It is important when selecting a mattress for our children that we do not look for the quick, easy way out of things. Our kids deserve the best we can offer, an investment in their futures.

Resting on a good quality mattress can help to provide the child with the health, energy and alertness he/she needs in order to perform at the top of his/her ability.

There are many great mattresses out there utilizing the very best in materials and the latest in cutting-edge technologies. You should choose a mattress that will ensure the finest in body conforming and supportive features.

Twin Mattresses are available in a variety of different mediums, for example: air support, fluid support, latex foam support, memory foam support and coil or innerspring support, just to name a few. Each medium has its advantages and disadvantages. You should choose the best quality you can afford so that you can assure that your child has been given the best advantages you could possibly give to him or her.

In doing so, you help strengthen the future of this country as well.
